It all began in 2017 when a group of three young sommeliers met with the desire to establish an organization for Vietnamese sommeliers. The organization’s mission is to mentor, train, and support young sommeliers eager to learn across Viet Nam.
Originating from my work as a restaurant server since 2005, the task of opening and serving wine became incredibly appealing to me during that time. It started as a simple passion, but soon evolved into a deep exploration of various wine types, grape varieties, and wine-producing regions. This fascination has persisted to the present day. Achieving the title of Vietnam Best Sommelier in French Wine 2011 was a turning point that opened doors for my career and paved the way for further development in the future. As someone who began from ground zero, I understand the challenges and obstacles faced by service staff aspiring to become professional sommeliers. This understanding is the driving force behind the establishment and ongoing growth of the Saigon Sommelier Association (SSA) up to this day.

Hello everyone, my name is Thanh Nguyen. I come from Da Nang and currently I work as Restaurant manager at Melioh Bistro. Besides, I also hold the position of lecturer at Vatel Da Nang with the subject of desk operations. In addition to wine industry certificates like WSET, I also have certificates from Barsmart with Mixology and Spirit. In the Da Nang market, it is quite difficult for you to participate in competitions, but I always take the time to learn and improve my knowledge.
